Chelo review of the gig...

I just landed from Paris and I can't believe I was in the same gig you lot are describing. Definitely it's a very different thing to be there and to listen to a radio broadcast. Admitedly, Liam started pretty weakly, Lyla being the lowest point of the gig, but everything went great from there. I thought he sounded 100x better than in 2005. I was with a friend who is a "civilian" and she thought he sounded fantastic.

Best things of the gig:

- 1500 people: it felt like it was somebody's front room. I couldn't believe it's the same band playing for 90.000 people audiences this summer. I felt like I had won the lottery. I was 5 metres from the band
- Liam and Noel looked more pleased and enthusiastic than their usual selves. Both cracked smiles at times and seemed kind of chuffed with the French welcome.
- Setlist, if the same as usual, was brilliant. You can't even breath for the first 30 minutes of the gig.
- Noel sang the chorus on Songbird!! How great was that? When did that start to happen?
- WFTR & Masterplan were NAILED by Noel. He was was perfect as usual. His solo during Supersonic was fucking amazing.
- Liam did very very well in both new songs and old songs. Wonderwall sounded better than ever. IATW sounded 90s good-like. Supersonic and WTSMG went down like a storm.
- Band and audience were on fire. Metaphorically and literally. It was like 120ºC in that place. Noel looked like he was melting down. During IATW I had to move to the back of the gig because I was about to faint (and God knows I've had my fair dosis of tough concerts)

Worst things of the gig:

- Lyla and (as much as I hate to admit it) Slide Away should be scrapped from the setlist. Liam can't sing them anymore, full stop. Slide Away in particular has been slowed down to the point of rap and even so it sounded like shit. The only good part was Noel singing the "I don't know, I don't care... " thing, in which by the way, Liam doesn't bother to participate anymore.

- Falling Down and TBWTL are both a bit of an anticlimax. Regardless if you like it on record or not, none of them are made to be played live. Not after the monster rocking tunes that precede them.

- They NEED to add Bag It Up to the setlist, damn it!

- What the fuck was Liam wearing? He looked like he was in his pyjamas And he needs to sort his hair out. Apart from that, he was carismatic as ell, as usual.

- Never go to an Oasis concert after a 4 hours-sleep, a 2-hours flight and a 12-hours walk around a rainy city. You won't be on your best form.
