Liam Gallagher Shocks The Locals With A Stockport Pub Gig

Stunned revellers were treated to the gig of a lifetime when former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher played an impromptu set at a Stockport bar.

The rock superstar turned up unannounced at the Town Bar in Heaton Moor, after delivering Christmas presents to mum Peggy, who lives nearby.

Liam chatted with regulars and posed for photographs.

He then stunned punters by grabbing a nearby guitar and performing Oasis and John Lennon classics along with Primal Scream bassist Mani, who was also there and lives nearby.

Town Bar owner Jo Hughes said: “He couldn’t have been any nicer and was chatting with customers, giving kids advice about the music business, he was a perfect gentleman.

“For a while he was tucked away in the corner and we didn’t even know he was there, and I couldn’t believe it when I looked over and realised it was him.

“The acoustic set just topped it all off really, there were about 20 people outside all singing along to John Lennon covers like ‘Shine On’, it was a great atmosphere and a great night.

“He’s welcome back any time, he’s a local lad whose mum lives nearby and he’s told us he’ll be popping in again next time he’s home.”

Liam, 38, is currently preparing for a UK tour with new line up Beady Eye next year, with the band’s debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ set for release in February.
