Noel Gallagher Wants To 'Light Up' In Public

Rocker Noel Gallagher has called on British authorities to axe the country's ban on smoking in public places.

Politicians in the former Oasis star's native England outlawed smoking in public places in 2007, and bars and gig venues now have outdoor zones where customers can puff cigarettes.

But Gallagher is urging the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to overturn the ban.

He tells Britain's ES Magazine, "Abolish the smoking ban. I've smoked since I was a teenager and now poor souls like me have to stand outside. What really annoys me is that in the winter we're all outside shivering, with all the squares inside, and then in the summer the squares come outside and it's like, 'This is for smokers, get back inside with your Birkenstocks.'"
