Review: Beady Eye At Sheffield's 02 Academy

Beady Eye, including Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock took to the stage at the Sheffield O2 Academy venue on Saturday, for the second night of their UK tour.

Diehard fans weren't disappointed as they played nearly every song from their debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' and a number of B-Sides.

The band took to the stage blasting straight into the scuzzy riffs of 'Four Letter Word', the first track of their debut album. Followed by fan favourite 'Beatles And Stones', Liam's voice sounds fantastic and the band are on great form the track is a massive crowd pleaser.

The crowd were then treated to 'Millionaire' followed by 'Two Of A Kind'. Liam seems in his element up on the stage, talking to the crowd and looking like he’s genuinely having a great time. Andy, Gem and Chris were on top form, reminding everyone of what a great back line Beady Eye have.

The crowd were then treated to 'Three Ring Circus' and 'The Roller', that got everyone up and singing.

The band then played 'In The Bubble With A Bullet' it was the first time I have heard it live and it sounded superb, Liam's vocal delivery was again spot on.

Then followed 'Bring The Light' and 'Standing On The Edge Of The Noise', the place is officially rocking, the band sounded fantastic and the crowd was going mental.

Liam had the crowd eating out of his hand without the need for any between-song banter.

'Kill for a Dream' is my favourite track from the album it did not disappoint.

Then came 'The Beat Goes On' and 'Man Of Misery', two tracks that really stood out for me as being something special live.

'The Morning Son' has always been a crowd favourite and then came a huge sing-along to 'Wigwam'.

Coming back onstage to frenzied chants of ‘Beady Eye! Beady Eye!’ the encore consisted of a superb 'World Outside My Room' followed a cover of ‘Sons Of The Stage’ by World Of Twist.
