Euro 2012 Finds It's Oasis

Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has caught onto the feel-good vibe of Euro 2012 with his High Flying Birds concert in Gdansk.

With the quarter-finals getting underway from Thursday, Gallagher's concert comes at the perfect time to take fans' minds off of the eagerly anticipated clashes.

Support acts included The Vaccines and Ziemianie at Plac Zebran Ludowych on Wednesday night as over 30,000 fans attended.

The concert in the fan zone is one positive among several off-field negatives at the tournament this year, with several fines issued for racism from fan groups.

Never never 30 000 fans!!! The whole field was empty... I was a bit shocked. Finally it was for free, after an original price of 20 euro, then reduced to 10 and nobody wanted to see them. A shame!

From what I'm reading in the polish media there was no more than 7000 people on that gig, people on forums talk about 3-4k. Oasis and Noel aren't very popular in Poland. When Oasis played here in 2000 (without Noel) the Warsaw venue was half empty too.

But despite that Noel gig gets great reviews in Polish newspapers and fans reports onlne seem to be enthusiastic too. I wish I was there.
