Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds Are Mud For It

You couldn’t blame some punters at the Isle of Wight Festival for packing up early.

A lot of them had 12-hour journeys in on Thursday and were fed up with the rain, wind and mud.

But the ones gone by yesterday afternoon missed the set of the weekend in Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

They also missed the sunshiiiine, as Noel’s brother Liam would call it.

Soon after walking on to the main stage Noel asked the crowd if they were having a good time.

After a cheer he added: “F*** off – that’s not what it said on the news.”

It’s hard for the audience, who were stood in drying mud, not to enjoy solo tracks like Everybody’s On The Run and If I Had A Gun.

And although he got boos for dedicating it to Manchester City fans, AKA... What A Life already feels like a festival favourite.

It got almost the same response as Oasis tracks Little By Little and Half The World Away.

Nothing could compare to the crowd reaction for Noel’s final track Don’t Look Back In Anger.

Everyone had their hands in the air for the classic and sang every word.

The mood was helped by Noel saying he was singing it for “any Italians in the crowd” just before the footie kicked off.
