Noel Gallagher: 'Olympics Restored Britain's Pride'

Rocker Noel Gallagher is convinced Britain has finally moved on from the riots which blighted the country last year (11), thanks to the feel-good factor of the London 2012 Olympics.

The former Oasis star is delighted the summer sporting extravaganza restored the U.K.'s reputation across the world, and he's adamant the nation has been lifted following the harrowing scenes of arson, looting and unrest that made international headlines last year.

He tells rock magazine Q, "It's an amazing thing that happened in those few weeks... After the riots, multiculturalism had a bad rep (reputation). I was doing interviews at that time, and people were saying, 'Is Britain f**ked?' I was saying, 'Well, it must be, look at all these arrogant little s**tbags burning down listed buildings.'

"That brought out the worst in us, then you fast-forward exactly a year - you see what it actually means, because they're only the minority."
