Noel Gallagher: I’ll Get Into Heaven Because God’s An Oasis Fan

Noel Gallagher has faith he will end up in Heaven — because he believes God loves Oasis.

The rocker has already written his Pearly Gates speech to persuade St Peter to overlook the catalogue of sex, drugs and rock ’n’ roll sins he’s racked up.

Dad-of-three Noel, 45, said: “I’d say, ‘You’ve heard Don’t Look Back In Anger?’, and they’d say, ‘Of course’. I’d say, ‘Look it’s me, let us in. I can play you a tune. I robbed some stuff, I took a lot of drugs, but I’m all right’.”

But Noel could face some awkward questions at Heaven’s gate. He once echoed John Lennon’s “Beatles are more important than Christ” claim by saying Oasis were bigger than God.

When he picked up the Godlike Genius gong at last year’s NME awards he said: “I accept I am a genius, just like God.”

And when asked about the lyrics to 1997 hit D’You Know What I Mean? — which include “I met my maker, and I made him cry” — Noel said: “On Judgement Day, if there ever is one, I’ll have a few things to say to Him.”

But Noel believes his “real-life angel” missus Sara McDonald, 40, will be straight in.

The High Flying Birds frontman added: “She’s not a heavenly body.

"I can touch her and I do regularly and it’s great — for me, not for her.”

God will say, "Sorry, but I've always liked Songbird."
